Our partnership with RadioReference.com has really paid off recently. During the 3rd alarm fire on January 6, 2010, 218 people were listening to the live scanner feed simultaneously!
When HFDRadio.com started out, we had the ability to provide 20 people with live streaming. If we hadn't partnered with RadioReference.com, approximately 200 people would have been denied a connection. We're glad that those who wanted to listen were accommodated. To be able to provide that level of service it would have cost me $75.00 per month! RadioReference.com provides it for FREE! However.... there are a few conditions. I can only use their web player on the HFDRadio website. Unfortunately, their universal "web player" is extremely buggy. It crashes frequently, as you are probably aware. They know about the problem and hopefully they will find a fix. Due to their terms of service, I can no longer provide the direct links to the live feed. My suggestion is to go to the RadioReference.com site. Hartford City Fire Department page.
By using this page to connect to the HFDRadio Live Scanner feed, you will have the best experience and best of all, IT'S STILL FREE!
MAC/Apple users: If you want to listen to the archived audio that is on the HFDRadio website, you can download the FREE media player from the Apple website. (MAC OS-X). This player will allow you to listen to the Windows Media encoded files in the archives.
Thanks for your continued interest in HFDRadio. The site has been a resounding success. Feel free to contact me with any questions, concerns, or suggestions. ADMIN@HFDRadio.com
